Peran Heararki Memori Dalam Efisiensi Pengolahan Data Pada Organisasi Arsitektur Komputer

Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin This study examines the role of memory hierarchy in improving the efficiency of data processing in computer systems from the perspective of imformation technologi students. The study used a quantitative survey method involving students of the Informatics study program of the Faculty of Science and Technology at the Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten State Islamic University. The research instrument was a questionnaire designed to measure respondents’ understanding of the effect of memory hierarchy (register, cache, RAM, storage) on computer system performance. Preliminary results show that (80)% of respondents realize the importance of cache memory optimization in accelerating data access. A total of (60)% of students considered that good memory organization can reduce latency. An interesting finding reveals that only (20)% of respondents understand the implementation of the cache block replacement algorithm in depth. The data will be further analyzed using correlation test of verify the relationship between conceptual understanding od memory hierarchy and perception of system efficiency.
